To qualify for the job of Senior SQL Programmer, you will have:

• A university degree in Computer Science or any related field, or equivalent experience Quick question for you - click here

• Strong SQL knowledge including the following computer languages and tools: T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Quick question for you - click here

Reporting to the Database Manager, you will join a team that includes members in Montréal and offshore. Commensurate with the your strengths, your role will be largely development-centered but also will include occasional light administration, as well as developmental support that may be escalated. Development is largely centered on schema design and implementation, development of data integrations including imports and exports, business processes implemented in SQL, and data warehousing. You will join and participate on a highly collaborative team that strives to follow and maintain principles and best practices of data normalization, data security, testing, naming conventions, and coding style. • Develop stored procedures and ad-hoc queries
• Develop complex database processes including imports, reports and data migrations
• Handle schema design, normalization, and implementation
• Perform database integration
• Write and manage the import/ export of data from several file types such as Excel, txt, CSV using SSIS and T-SQL
• Handle query analysis, optimization and debugging
• Perform basic administration including security, performance monitoring, traces, backups, restores and job configurations

Expectations: We understand that there will be a learning curve as you get up to speed with our technologies, processes and company. At the same time, with your background, you should be able to hit the ground running and start contributing in short order. You should be motivated not only to quickly understand our platform but also to dig in on a regular basis to investigate and resolve issues. The focus of this role will be on development, but you also should be prepared to do support and administration.
