To be a good fit for the Technical Project Manager opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of technical project management experience and demonstrated understanding of project management processes, strategies and methods; PMP certification is a plus
  • Experience managing teams
  • Knowledge of database administration/management, including:
    • Strong SQL skills and the ability to write SQL queries to manipulate data 
    • General knowledge of ETL, SSAS, SSIS, SSMS, SSAS and other database concepts Quick question for you - click here
  • Knowledge of distributed web applications and REST-based API design (XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment; experience with Scrum is preferred, and experience as a Scrum master would be ideal
  • The ability to develop roadmaps, including anticipating challenges and obstacles
Just as important will be the following competencies and characteristics:
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • A sense of personal accountability when it comes to both decision-making and supervising teams
  • The ability to train rising talent in the technology department
  • Strong managerial-level skills in problem-solving and analytical thinking

Our preference is that you are based in the Montreal area, and we also will consider qualified candidates in other areas of Quebec. If you are based remotely, you'll need to travel to Montreal on occasion.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will work closely with the VP of Professional Technical Services. You'll lead the database team in multiple backend projects, maintaining roadmaps and project plans, in support of product development. This will include exploding strategic goals into technical specifications for the developers, and reporting project progress to stakeholders on a regular basis. You'll also coordinate projects in collaboration with team leads, clients and the other project managers. Over time we hope to add leadership of the ERP team to your responsibilities.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Analyzing, planning and developing scheduled projects
  • Establishing and implementing training processes for technical personnel
  • Determining and defining clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for all staff members
