Senior Jeweller
QC - Montreal
Engage2Excel group is looking for a professionally-dynamic person to join our Direct Costs of Sales team in Canada.The Senior Jeweler position is a manual handling, labour intensive job. A Senior Jeweler makes and repairs jewellery articles, such as rings, brooches, pendants, bracelets, and other ornaments using a variety of materials, including gold, silver and precious stones based on design specifications and assembly line methods. We rely on open-minded individuals, who will bring value to our organization. KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean, grind, finishing, sizing, trademark, sandblast and solder logo’s on rings using specialized hand and power tools
- Assemble jewellery using soldering, screwing, riveting and other joining methods
- Finish articles using files, emery paper, buffing machines or other appropriate tools and equipment; Polish all rings using the polishing equipment
- Sort order for engraving (rings, brooches, bracelets and other articles)
- Repair all rings by soldering, replacing or rebuilding worn or broken parts
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to his/her lead hand.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
- Flexible to work in all of the various job related categories
WHAT TO BRING TO THE TABLE
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience required with a combination of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty
- Must be able to work quickly to produce a high-quality product.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure
- Good knowledge of field’s concepts and practices within his/her unit
- Good knowledge of business rules and procedures within unit
- Verbal communication skills; Partnering; Teamwork
- Analysis and synthesis; Decision-making; Problem solving; Ability to work independently
- Good eyesight; Good hand-eye coordination; Aptitude for “hands-on” manufacturing related work
- Seated most of the day although must have the ability to work standing, bending and lifting up to approximately 20 pounds during a typical eight-hour workday
- Ability to perform work with same physical movements
- Ability to work quickly to produce a high-quality product
- Ability to effectively work under pressure
