Cost Accountant
India
The Cost Accountant is responsible for the determination and maintenance of product cost and inventory valuation. Perform timely variance analysis and review manufacturing system for proper reporting. Provide support to manufacturing areas and ensure proper function of work order flow and process. Provide guidance for cost changes as they relate to Custom, ASI, and OMNI programs.
Key Responsibilities & Authorities
- Analyze standard and actual costs for variances and report variances to management for decision making purposes (across the E2E Group both Canada and the US)
- Understand and own the merging of data from various systems to provide cohesive analysis for leadership’s decision making
- Efficiency and constraint analysis- Set KPI’s
- Report both to the FP&A team as well as directly to the operations team
- Complete gross margin analyses related to a company's products, inventory, and its overall value across the E2E Group
- Review daily manufacturing reports and determine root cause of any errors preventing transactions from completing properly, as well as analyzing any major variances
- Calculate proper labor and overhead rates for all locations, and update system periodically to ensure standards are set properly. May require periodic time studies.
- Review and prepare monthly variance and margin reporting for Statesville and Chicago and Rideau locations. Investigate and explain any major variances to budget.
- Other duties as assigned by CFO and Controller
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience is required. Prior cost and/or inventory experience strongly preferred.
- Computer literacy and proficient in Excel.
- General accounting knowledge and understand how cost, overhead, and labor affect the General Ledger.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior cost and/or inventory experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Excel macros and prior experience with JD Edwards is preferred.
- Problem solving skills, have an analytic mind, and ability to investigate issues independently.

Must be a self-starter, organized, communicate effectively, be detail oriented, able to prioritize work effectively. Candidate should also be confident to make decisions and communicate those well with various teams in the organization.
