Senior Manager, Legal Affairs
QC - Montreal or Remote
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Legal Affairs. Reporting to the CFO, you will be recognized as a leader and business partner that leverages its expertise to respond proactively and efficiently to the legal needs of its internal partners. You will be offering legal advice adapted to the specific business context while playing a strategic role in managing legal risk. This position can be based out of Canada or the US.
As part of your primary responsibilities, you will:
- Assess, develop, and implement legal and risk mitigation strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws and regulations in Canada and in the US that may impact our company's operations.
- Review and validate client RFPs and proposals from a legal standpoint globally. Advise executives and sales team on issues relating to deal structuring, risk and risk mitigation strategy and corporate policy.
- Review, draft, and negotiate and manage a wide range of contractual (including SLAs) and licensing agreements with clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee any litigation and legal disputes involving the company. Provide proper legal advice, guidance and representation to internal stakeholders.
- Educate E2E Group internal stakeholders in order to reduce the risks of litigation and liability.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the company's interests in court proceedings.
- Coordinate company insurance agreements and coverage (workers' compensation, buildings, owner's liability, employment practices, car liability coverage, etc.).
- Work with dedicated internal team for management of data and privacy policies, to ensure global compliance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree from an accredited law school or equivalent knowledge through experience. An in-depth knowledge of corporate law, compliance, regulatory matters, and litigation.
- Solid experience in general corporate / commercial law and contract drafting and negotiation.
- A proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel and leadership to internal stakeholders.
- Service-oriented lawyer with strong conceptual thinking and decision-making skills, who can manage a high volume of competing priorities appropriately and effectively.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills (internal and external) working within a collaborative and team-oriented approach is essential.
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or in the US.
- Given the vast majority of our clients are outside of Quebec, English is a job requirement. If the selected candidate is based in Quebec, we will expect that they speak French as well.
Requirements which are considered an asset:
- 5 years of post-call experience in private practice, in-house, or a combination thereof.
- Strong ability to take a pragmatic and commercial approach. Business and financial acumen
- Ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
