Engraver / Engraver Assembly
NC, Statesville
The Laser Engraver / Laser Assembler position is a manual handling, labor intensive job. The Engraver prepares the machine to laser engrave each award item based on the bill of materials. Each item is then inspected, cleaned, engraving is proofed, and the product is boxed/labeled. Other duties may include perform assembly of crystal pieces, brass statues and plaques; perform quality inspection; reject, accept or repair items; use a variety of materials based on design specifications and assembly line methods; use of hand and power tools may be required. Requires intermediate computer skills. Excel & JDEdwards knowledge a plus.
Key Responsibilities & Authorities
- Hand and power tools will be used to affix plates
- Lift boxes 50lbs or less to load and unload product
- Identify defective materials or questionable conditions and take action to correct them
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision
- Flexible to work in all of the various job-related categories
- Assemble various items and sort according to packet slips
Qualifications
- Good knowledge of field’s concepts and practices within his/her department
- Good knowledge of company policies, procedures relevant to the department
- Verbal communication skills
- Customer oriented
- Ability to multitask; Patience and Perseverance; Attention to details; Dexterity
- Decision Making Judgment; Problem solving
- Good eyesight; Good hand-eye coordination; Aptitude for “hands-on” manufacturing related work
- Must have the ability to work standing, bending and lifting to approximately 50 pounds during a typical workday
- Ability to perform work with same physical movements
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Flexible with hours, some overtime will be needed
- Intermediate computer skills. Excel & JDEdwards knowledge a plus.
